About This Place

Welcome to Bar Michigan, a charming tapas bar nestled in the heart of Nigrán, Pontevedra, at Av. Val Miñor, 6. This vibrant establishment invites you to immerse yourself in a culinary delight steeped in Spanish tradition. Bar Michigan is not just a eateries; it's a social hub where flavors, friendship, and excellent service come together.

The enthusiastic staff, led by a commendable manager, ensures a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. As Kevin Lyster from Ireland aptly noted, the staff's friendliness and the bar's cleanliness contribute to a truly enjoyable experience. Patrons are often captivated by the quality of the coffee, making it a perfect stop whether you're seeking a quick caffeine boost or a leisurely breakfast.

For tapas lovers like Heather Shuker, Bar Michigan delivers a mouthwatering selection ready to tantalize your taste buds. The jamón y tapas are a highlight, and don't miss the anchovy topped with tomato on bread (pan con anchoa y tomate) — a standout dish that has received high praises. The croquetas, too, have garnered admiration and are a must-try for anyone seeking authentic Spanish bites.

However, as with any establishment, there can be moments worth noting. While Standa K. experienced a minor setback with some gristle on a veal entrecote, it should not overshadow the overall quality that Bar Michigan offers. Many customers, like Andres Villa, have celebrated the diverse menu that caters to any occasion, including an outstanding breakfast and a commendable daily menu that reflects the best of local cuisine.

As you step into Bar Michigan, be prepared to indulge in a feast of flavors. Whether you're enjoying a light breakfast or relishing the authenticity of their tapas, this establishment stands out for its culinary artistry and warm service. If you find yourself in Nigrán, do not miss the opportunity to experience this local gem that brings a slice of Spain’s rich culinary heritage to life.

Lovely friendly staff. The Manager is excellent. Very clean and efficient cafe. Great coffee too! Kevin - Irlanda

Great local place for jamón y tapas. I particularly loved the anchovy (pan con anchoa y tomate). Croquetas great too!.What's not to like !

Very good service. Part of the veal entrecote was impossible to eat as it was all gristle.

Great service, tasty breakfast. Nice place to start a day. Unfortunately we can't try dinner here

Michigan is great for any occasion. They have excellent breakfast, very good daily menu and excellent service. Quality of food is outstanding!

Excellent choice for breakfast. Victor the owner who is originally from Barcelona and his team are super well organised. The place is spotlessly clean & nicely decorated. The coffee and food are good quality including gluten free options. They have a menu which is good value for money. It's a lively establishment and is popular with locals. Coffee is tasty as is the tortilla española with pan Catalán. Service is quick and professional. This business was founded 11 years ago and is now we'll established and an integral part of the local community. An excellent addition to the High Street of Nigran.

Walking the camino when the heavens opened. A lovely waitress let me rest while I had a Coca-Cola. Ending up staying for the lunch. Had the menu del dia which was delicious . Wish I could return but must keep walking..
